Thai Army Says Cambodia Agrees to Fill In Trench and Remove Wire Near Hill 450, Si Sa Ket
Royal Thai Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Winthai Suvaree said Cambodian troops had dug a trench and installed barbed-wire barriers on Hill 450 in the Chong Sa-ngam area of Phu Sing district, Si Sa Ket province, potentially encroaching on Thai-administered ground. After Thailand raised the issue through bilateral liaison channels, Winthai said Cambodian coordination teams agreed to restore the site to its original condition by filling in the trench and removing the wire. He said Thailand had not received an official Cambodian explanation for the fortifications, suggesting they may have been built for unit security rather than territorial encroachment, and urged the public to rely on official statements rather than social media reports. The episode was resolved through direct dialogue and was not treated as a major security incident, separate from Cambodia's own protest the same week over alleged Thai trench-digging near Boundary Pillar No. 9 in Oddar Meanchey.
