Thailand Disputes Chinese Investor's Property Seizure Claim at Thma Da

Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sornchaidee, director of Thailand's Joint Information Center (JIC) on the border situation, rejected allegations that Thai forces seized and looted land and property belonging to a Chinese investor at the Heng Fang Hotel in the Thma Da area of Cambodia's Pursat province. The hotel's Chinese owner had brought Chinese embassy officials from Cambodia to inspect the disputed area and demanded Thailand return the property. Prapas said Thai military positions comply with the December 27, 2025 Joint Statement, stating: 'We have not advanced. We are maintaining our deployment in accordance with the agreement,' and that ownership disputes must be resolved through 'documents, coordinates, evidence and intergovernmental mechanisms' rather than public pressure.
