Taiwan Detects 7 PLA Aircraft, 5 Crossing Median Line into Northern/Southwestern ADIZ

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected 7 PLA aircraft sorties, 6 PLAN vessels and 2 official ships operating around Taiwan in the 24 hours to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) September 12, 2026; 5 of the 7 sorties crossed the Taiwan Strait median line, entering the northern and southwestern ADIZ sectors. Taiwan's armed forces responded with CAP aircraft, navy ships and coastal missile systems. The activity continues the pattern of near-daily median-line crossings and gray-zone pressure that has intensified since September 2020; MND's running September tally reached 76 aircraft and 119 ship trackings for the month as of this report.
