Sarawak Haze Eases Further as All Stations Drop Out of 'Very Unhealthy' Band
Air quality across Sarawak continued improving on Sept. 13, with every monitoring station falling out of the 'very unhealthy' category by evening for the first time in over a week. By 6pm, Lubok Antu led at 198 (unhealthy), followed by Serian (173), Betong (165), Sri Aman (163), Kuching (155), Samarahan (153), Kanowit (143), Tebedu (135) and Lundu (112); Bario recorded the day's best reading at 38 (good). The Star's separate 4pm snapshot similarly found only five areas nationwide — four in Sarawak (Serian 174, Sri Aman 164, Samarahan 154, Kuching 154) plus Johan Setia, Selangor (131) — in the unhealthy range, with 56 areas moderate and 7 good. No station has recorded a hazardous reading since Sept. 8's brief spike at Serian.
