Drone Strike Hits Al-Sayyah Market, North Darfur, Killing One

A drone strike, alleged to be conducted by the Sudanese Armed Forces, hit the main market in Al-Sayyah town, North Darfur, on June 22, 2026, while RSF vehicles were reportedly nearby. The strike killed resident Adam Haroun Bakrin and injured several others; four successive missile strikes set the southern market section ablaze, destroying goods worth an estimated 100 million SDG and causing roughly 50 million SDG in infrastructure damage. Al-Sayyah is a major weekly trading hub serving Al-Malha, Al-Kuma, Malit, and surrounding North Darfur communities.
