Korea Disaster Relief Team's First Foot Search in Nepal Yields No Results

The Korea Disaster Relief Team conducted its first on-foot search in the Ramche area of Rasuwa district for the nine missing Korean nationals, after helicopters, drones and ground teams had failed to locate them. The search 'yielded no results'; steep terrain prevented safe helicopter landings and Nepalese authorities concluded that further tunnel searches at the Upper Trishuli-1 site were no longer feasible. An official said the team had 'done everything possible through foot searches within a safe range.' Recovery efforts elsewhere at the site had rescued one Chinese survivor and recovered several unidentified bodies, not yet confirmed as belonging to the missing Koreans.
