Nepal Army Bars On-Foot Search for Missing Koreans as 'Too Dangerous'

| Korea

The Nepal Army refused to permit an on-foot search by the Korea Disaster Relief Team in the Ramche area near the Upper Trishuli-1 site, roughly 2km from the base camp, citing near-90-degree mountainous terrain between the upper weir dam and the powerhouse. A Nepal Army commander said a foot search was too dangerous to authorize, forcing continued reliance on helicopters, thermal-imaging drones and ground teams elsewhere in the search zone.
