AFRICOM struck Al-Shabaab positions near Qumbi (roughly 88km northwest of Kismayo) and separately near Sablaale (roughly 190km southwest of Mogadishu) in Lower Shabelle. The same night, Danab Commandos conducted a ground raid in Sablaale district, killing 7 Al-Shabaab fighters including a senior commander and destroying two training and propaganda facilities. Reporting placed this as the 74th US airstrike in Somalia in 2026, on pace to exceed 2025's record of roughly 124-126 strikes.
