SNA and AUSSOM Kill 30+ Al-Shabaab Fighters in Bulunagaad Joint Operation

Somalia National Army forces and AUSSOM troops (including UPDF Battle Group 44) conducted a joint ground-and-air operation near Bulunagaad Base in Lower Shabelle, killing more than 30 al-Shabaab militants. The operation was part of Operation Rolling Thunder / Operation Bader — the joint campaign targeting al-Shabaab supply routes and staging areas in Lower Shabelle that began on February 28. In a separate simultaneous operation, SNA forces in Middle Shabelle prevented a suspected suicide bombing targeting military bases, neutralizing the threat before detonation. The Bulunagaad area is strategically significant as a historical al-Shabaab logistics hub for attacks on Mogadishu from the south and southwest.
