Day 788: Man Found Dead Inside Stolen Range Rover in El Fuerte's Jahuara 2 Community

On the afternoon of Saturday, September 19, 2026, residents of the Jahuara 2 community in El Fuerte municipality, northern Sinaloa, reported a foul odor coming from a white Range Rover abandoned on a rural dirt road and called emergency services. Officers confirmed a man's body inside; the vehicle's plates matched an active theft report. The body, in an advanced state of decomposition, could not be identified at the scene. Unofficial sources said the vehicle may belong to relatives of Juan Carlos Ochoa Gil, a former PRD mayoral candidate for Choix who has been missing since June 29, 2026.
