Day 763: SEDENA Airlifts 300 More Troops to Mazatlán as Sinaloa Reinforcement

At 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, SEDENA airlifted 300 Mexican Army personnel aboard two Air Force Boeing 737 heavy-transport aircraft from Santa Lucía Military Air Base (State of Mexico) to Mazatlán International Airport, incorporating them into 9th Military Zone operations under the National Public Security Strategy 2024-2030. SEDENA said the troops would conduct patrols, ground reconnaissance and deterrent actions in priority areas, aimed at dismantling criminal cells and detaining violence generators, in coordination with state and municipal authorities and 'con apego a la Ley Nacional sobre el Uso de la Fuerza' (in accordance with the National Law on the Use of Force) and human-rights standards.
