The Sinaloa Congress convened an extraordinary session on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 and voted 36-4 (PAN and PRI opposed) to name Graciela Domínguez Nava — Rubén Rocha Moya's former Secretary of Public Education and Culture, a federal deputy for Morena (2024-2027) and ex-PRD state deputy — as interim governor following Rocha Moya's indefinite second leave.
