Day 754: Four More Killed Across Culiacán in Separate Sunday Attacks

Four additional men were killed in three separate attacks across Culiacán on Sunday, August 16, 2026, part of a six-murder weekend that also included the Saturday Government Palace shooting. In the Infonavit/Barrancos area, Javier 'N' (47) and Jorge 'N' (45) were shot dead at a beer stand ('cervecería'); both died at the scene. In the Campo El Diez sector near the city's south exit, Jesús Alberto 'N' (29) was shot while climbing the stairs of a pedestrian bridge over the Culiacán–Eldorado highway; the attackers fled. In the El Mirador neighborhood, José 'N' (40) was shot outside his home by assailants on a motorcycle who fled immediately after. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) opened investigations at all scenes; no arrests were reported.
