Sheinbaum Presents Decree Protecting Minors Online; Hurricane Simón Threatens Jalisco-Colima Coast

At her Oct 9 conference the government presented a decree requiring digital platforms to remove violent or harmful content, offer parental supervision tools and classify content by age, to be published in the Diario Oficial by Oct 13; Sheinbaum said a law would follow if platforms do not comply. Civil Protection said Hurricane Simón could make landfall between Jalisco and Colima as a category 3 or 4, with CFE deploying 2,316 workers. Sheinbaum announced a tour of IMSS-Bienestar hospitals in the 24 states where it operates through December, starting in Hidalgo, and reported a meeting with US ambassador Ronald Johnson on economic issues and a further $1 billion Nestlé investment.
