Sheinbaum: Querétaro Police Academy Not Authorized; Asks U.S. for Evidence on Coast Guard Shots
At her Oct 6 conference Sheinbaum said the Querétaro police academy involving U.S. agencies was not among nine collaboration projects approved by the High-Level Security Group and that it must obtain federal authorization, calling her remarks a warning to Governor Mauricio Kuri's government. She said Mexico has no evidence of shots fired from Mexico at a U.S. Coast Guard vessel and asked Washington for proof. She announced more than 12,700 SUS clinics tied to IMSS-Bienestar, said the Banco de México should review lifetime pensions of former officials, and ruled out changes to the alcohol IEPS tax.
