Sheinbaum Questions Binational Police Training Academy in Querétaro

At her Oct 5 morning conference Sheinbaum said the federal government was not informed of an 'International Police Training Academy' in Querétaro involving Governor Mauricio Kuri and U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson. She said any foreign institution training in Mexico must go through the Foreign Ministry and comply with the national security law, and that a state cannot set up an international academy without federal authorization. She said she would direct the Foreign Ministry to contact Johnson and Kuri. Asked about Brazil's runoff, she declined to comment.
