Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch reported that since December 2024 the state has recorded 9,949 detentions, 1,832 recovered vehicles, 1,545 seized weapons and 71,798 confiscated cartridges, plus 18.6 tonnes of drugs secured through 101,907 joint interinstitutional operations, alongside a 64% drop in the daily average of intentional homicides and a 44% drop in other high-impact crimes compared to December 2024; the governor cited incorporating 800 experienced officers and a 55% police salary increase. On literacy, Chiapas reported reaching 194,818 people since 2025 against a 250,000 target. Sheinbaum also asked the INE to clarify new criteria that would count unfolded "straight ballots" as valid votes, and argued the agency's 2027 election budget should be based on 2024 spending adjusted for inflation.
