FAMa Reports Two-Month 'Dougoukoloko' Tally: 1,850 Terrorists Neutralized, 45 Bases Destroyed (June–July 2026)

Colonel-Major Bakary Bocar Maïga, head of Mali's Armed Forces Information and Public Relations Department (DIRPA), held a press briefing on August 11, 2026 presenting the FAMa's activity balance for June 1–July 31, 2026 under Operation Dougoukoloko — the strategic plan established by decree in April 2025. The military reported 1,545 aerial sorties, 1,850 'terrorists' neutralized, 45 armed group bases destroyed, and equipment losses inflicted on militant forces of 153 pick-up trucks (40 equipped with weapons mounts), 11 armored vehicles, and over 230 motorcycles and logistics items, across three theaters: the eastern theater (Gao, Ménaka, Kidal), the central theater (around Konna), and the southern theater (Sandaré and the Kenenkoun–Nyamina–Soussan–Baoulé–La Faya forest massifs). FAMa said it also escorted 15,589 fuel tankers and conducted 673 transport missions in the same period. The figures are self-reported by Mali's junta-controlled military with no independent verification; DIRPA has previously denounced foreign media coverage disputing such tallies as a 'disinformation campaign.'
