EU Pledges Sanctions on Organizers of Russia's Duma Election

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said Brussels will impose new sanctions on organizers of Russia's Sep 18-20 State Duma election, including candidates who stood in occupied Ukrainian territories and officials responsible for what the EU called the 'continued and deepening erosion of democracy in Russia.' Kallas cited the exclusion of Yabloko candidates as further narrowing choices available to Russian voters.
