Russia Says It Is Open to 'New Ideas' on Ukraine War That Match Putin's Goals
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with News.ru that 'the Russian Federation is ready to listen to any reasonable proposals and ideas that are in line with the goals set by the Russian president' and that meet 'realities on the ground.' Ryabkov said the US had shown readiness for 'constructive dialogue' but that what mattered most was 'to what extent Washington is able to influence the decisions of the Kyiv regime and its European sponsors, who still dream of a strategic defeat of Russia.' He also expressed interest in resuming nuclear arms-control discussions with Washington. Putin's preconditions remain unchanged: Ukraine must cede the full Donbas, disarm, and renounce NATO membership.
