Russia Receives First North Korean KN-30 Ballistic Missiles, Deploys Unit in Voronezh

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) confirmed Russia received its first shipment of North Korean Hwasong-11C (KN-30) short-range ballistic missiles — roughly 50 of an initial 120-missile allocation — with six transporter-erector-launcher vehicles deployed to Voronezh Oblast alongside Russia's 112th Guards Missile Brigade. Approximately 90 North Korean personnel are reportedly operating the unit. The KN-30 has a longer range (600-900 km) and larger claimed payload than the KN-23/24 missiles Russia has used since 2023-2025, extending Moscow's ability to strike targets across seven Ukrainian oblasts from deeper inside Russian territory.
