Monsoon Death Toll Climbs to 151 as NDMA Warns of Fresh August Rain

Pakistan's nationwide monsoon death toll since June 26 rose to 151, with 448 injured, according to the National Disaster Management Authority. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest toll (64 deaths), followed by Punjab (53), Sindh (15), Azad Kashmir (10), Balochistan (8), and Gilgit-Baltistan (1); most deaths were attributed to drowning, house collapses, electrocution, and flash floods. The NDMA warned of a fresh wet spell beginning August 8, with a westerly weather system expected to bring moderate-to-heavy rainfall to Islamabad, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, KP, and upper Punjab from August 10.
