PTI Holds 30th Foundation Day Rally in Muzaffarabad, Renews Calls for Khan's Release

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held its 30th Foundation Day rally at Lal Chowk, Muzaffarabad, led by KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Party leaders renewed calls for Imran Khan's release from Adiala Jail and announced plans for a larger protest in Lahore on May 1. Turnout was modest at roughly 700–850 attendees versus 1,100 chairs, raising questions about PTI's current public mobilization capacity. Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023 across multiple cases including corruption and official secrets violations. The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention had previously issued opinions calling his detention arbitrary.
