ICC Issues Arrest Warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant, and Hamas Leaders

| October 7

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on November 21, 2024 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas military commanders Mohammed Deif and Yahya Sinwar (both already dead). The ICC prosecutor alleged Netanyahu and Gallant bore responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including using starvation as a weapon of war. The warrants applied in all 124 ICC member states. The US rejected the warrants as illegitimate; Netanyahu called them antisemitic.
