Sderot Police Station Seized — Chief Killed

Hamas fighters attacked the city of Sderot (~24,000 residents) and seized the city's police station. Sderot Police Chief Superintendent Barak Lufan was killed in the attack. Hamas fighters used police vehicles and seized weapons from the station. Fighting in Sderot continued for hours as residents barricaded inside homes and commercial buildings. The attack on Sderot's police headquarters — the main law enforcement command for the Gaza Envelope — eliminated a key coordination hub for civilian protection.
