| NATO-US Tensions

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated the Strait of Hormuz is 'out of NATO's area of action.' French President Macron said at an EU summit in Brussels that defending international law and promoting de-escalation was 'the best we can do,' adding 'I have not heard anyone here express a willingness to enter this conflict — quite the opposite.' British PM Keir Starmer said the UK 'will not be drawn into the wider war.' EU foreign ministers noted there was 'no appetite' for expanding naval operations toward the Strait.
