CDF/PDF Resistance Forces Kill 15 Junta Soldiers on Falam-Hakha Road, Chin State
Resistance forces, including the Chinland Defence Force (CDF) and allied PDF units, killed 15 Myanmar junta soldiers in local battles on the Falam-Hakha road in Chin State on May 9, 2026, according to the Mizzima Spring Revolution Daily News. The Falam-Hakha road connects the two largest towns in Chin State — Falam (the administrative center) and Hakha (the state capital) — and is of critical strategic importance to SAC consolidation efforts in the Chin Hills. The SAC recaptured Falam on April 25-26, 2026 after sustained fighting, and subsequently seized Kennedy Peak in Tedim Township on May 7. The Falam-Hakha road axis has been an active battleground as CDF and allied forces resist the junta's post-Falam push northward through the Chin Hills toward Tedim and Rikhawdar. The killing of 15 junta soldiers in a single day represents one of the higher resistance strike tallies in Chin State in May 2026 and demonstrates that local forces retain combat capacity on the Falam-Hakha corridor despite setbacks at Falam and Kennedy Peak. This attack also aligns with a pattern of CDF-CDM Siyin operations: on May 6, CDF-CDM Siyin killed Captain Zin Myo Myat and four soldiers on the Kalay-Falam supply route. The sustained resistance on both the Falam-Hakha and Kalay-Falam axes indicates the junta's recaptured corridor is not secure and will require continued heavy troop commitment.
