SAC Infantry Drone Bombs Village School in Wetlet Township — 10 Students and Teacher Injured (Sagaing)

At approximately 11:00 AM on April 23, 2026, a suicide drone operated by Myanmar Army Infantry Battalion No. 42 struck a village school in Moksokyone village, Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region. The drone attack injured 11 people: three male students, seven female students, and one female teacher — three of whom were in serious condition requiring urgent medical treatment. No resistance military presence was reported in the village. The attack continues the SAC's documented pattern of targeting schools across Sagaing Region — one of Myanmar's most heavily bombed areas — where the People's Defence Force has near-total operational control of rural areas. Myanmar's military has attacked hundreds of educational facilities since the 2021 coup, forcing repeated school relocations and effectively eliminating access to education for children in conflict zones.
