43 Ayotzinapa Students Forcibly Disappeared

On the night of September 26–27, 2014, 43 male students from the Raúl Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers' College in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, were intercepted by Iguala police while traveling to Mexico City. They were handed to the Guerreros Unidos cartel. Attorney General Murillo Karam announced a 'historical truth' that they were incinerated at a dump in Cocula — a conclusion rejected by the GIEI (Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts). No bodies were confirmed found.
