Sandu: Five Russian Missiles and Drones Exploded on Moldovan Territory; "War Is Dangerously Reaching Moldova"

| Moldova-Transnistria

President Maia Sandu said on October 3 that five Russian aerial weapons, including Banderol missiles and drones, entered Moldovan airspace and exploded on Moldovan territory during Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine, writing that the war is "dangerously reaching Moldova" and that Moscow is putting lives at risk across Europe. Fragments were found in the Hîncești, Anenii Noi and Căușeni districts. Chisinau has received EUR 120 million from the EU toward a medium-range air-defence system and is developing drone detection and interception capability. Sandu's characterisation of some objects as missiles goes beyond the Defence Ministry's drone-only account of the same morning.
