'El Tanque,' Alleged CJNG Regional Operator, Arrested in Zapopan

Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch announced (Oct 6) the Oct 5 arrest in Zapopan, Jalisco of Iván 'N,' alias 'El Tanque' (reported as Iván Cazarín Molina), an alleged CJNG regional operator active in Veracruz, Oaxaca, Tabasco and Puebla. Defense, SSPC and National Guard forces, with National Intelligence Center and FGR support, detained him in flagrante, seizing a vehicle, a firearm and drugs. He is linked to homicide, extortion, kidnapping, fuel theft (huachicol), money laundering and drug trafficking, and to the 2015 attack on an Army helicopter in Jalisco; the U.S. Treasury sanctioned him in Sept 2024. El Financiero reports he answered directly to El Mencho. He was placed at FEMDO's disposal. One outlet's 'co-founder' label is not in the official account.
