InSight Crime: CJNG's 'Operadores Droneros' Unit Has Extended Weaponized Drone Attacks to Five Mexican States

The report noted smaller organizations, including Cárteles Unidos and Los Ardillos, have also adopted drone tactics, and referenced an August 17, 2026 Mexico-U.S. cooperation agreement on counter-drone technology, though experts cautioned that drones' widespread legitimate commercial uses make market-level interdiction impractical.
