Loret de Mola Releases 2023 Audio Linking Friends of AMLO's Son to CJNG Operative 'El Tanque' in Veracruz
Journalist Carlos Loret de Mola, via Latinus, published 2023 audio recordings on August 18, 2026 implicating the inner circle of Andrés Manuel López Beltrán ('Andy'), Morena's national secretary of organization and son of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador. In one recording, Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio — described as a close friend and financial operator of Andy and his brother Gonzalo 'Bobby' López Beltrán — discusses arrangements to protect family business interests in Veracruz by coordinating with a CJNG cell tied to fuel theft (huachicol) and extortion. In a second recording, his brother Luis Alberto Olán says that because of his relationship with Iván Cazarín Molina, alias 'El Tanque' — a CJNG founding-generation figure and U.S. Treasury-sanctioned huachicolero identified as a regional CJNG operator in Veracruz — they stopped extorting a gravel-mine owner who supplied López Beltrán's network, quoted as saying 'yo conozco a El Tanque.' Loret de Mola's outlet had first raised allegations in May 2026 that the López Beltrán brothers received payments tied to organized crime, which Andy López Beltrán publicly denied at the time, calling the reporting 'calumnias' from a 'periodista mercenario' and demanding evidence. As of publication, López Beltrán's camp had not issued a specific rebuttal to the August 18 audio.
