Pakistan's DG ISPR Pledges to Defend Saudi Arabia "To Any Extent" — "Physically"
Pakistani military spokesman Lieutenant-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told Saudi newspaper Arab News that Pakistan would defend Saudi Arabia "to any extent," adding: "I would like to underscore here the word 'physically.' We will go to any extent." He noted Pakistani forces are already deployed to protect the Kingdom and Islam's two holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, and "will go to any extent further as required by the Saudi leadership and the people of Saudi Arabia," calling the commitment "unconditional" and rooted in a "deep-rooted, historical and unbreakable bond." The pledge is the most explicit Pakistani military language yet on physical intervention, though it did not specify a trigger, timeline, or whether Riyadh had requested additional Pakistani troops beyond the 8,000–13,000 already deployed.
