Petroleum Facilities Guard Threatens Complete Shutdown of Seven Oil Fields Including Sharara and El Feel Within a Week

A day after closing the Hamada–Zawiya pipeline valve, the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) said in a video statement it would impose a partial, one-week production cut starting Tuesday at Wafa, Al-Khamsa, El Feel, Tahara, Al-Hazwa, Al-Golf, and Sharara — seven fields spanning Libya's southwestern Ghadames and Murzuq basins — with a complete shutdown to follow if the government fails to meet its demands. The Guard, which sits under the Defense Ministry, again called for its administrative and financial transfer to the National Oil Corporation and resolution of unspecified pay and conditions grievances. NOC reiterated that the closures were economically damaging and kept open the possibility of declaring force majeure if the disruption widens.
