Misrata Maritime Terminal Launches First Direct Passenger Ferry to Benghazi

| Libya Conflict

The Misrata Maritime Terminal announced the launch of a new direct passenger ferry service between Misrata, in western Libya, and Benghazi, in the east, operated by the vessel Gothica, with the first sailing on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The route offers a new civilian sea link between the GNU-aligned west and the GNS/LNA-aligned east that bypasses the country's long, politically divided overland route. The same vessel is scheduled to resume its pre-existing international service between Benghazi Maritime Terminal and Istanbul's Haydarpasa port on September 11, restoring a Benghazi-Turkiye passenger link alongside the new domestic route.
