One Killed on Zebdine-Harouf Road as Relative Calm Returns to the South

| Lebanon

One person was killed Wednesday in an Israeli strike on his motorcycle on the Zebdine-Marj Harouf road. Israeli artillery shelled overnight into Wednesday the southern towns of Kfar Remman, al-Mansouri, Wadi Zebqine, Mays al-Jabal and Qabrikha, while air strikes targeted Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Wadi Slouqi and Kfartebnit, and Israeli forces carried out controlled detonations in al-Mansouri and al-Qantara. The activity was markedly reduced from the prior three-day escalation that killed 27 and wounded 69 in the Nabatieh region, with Naharnet describing a 'relative calm' returning to southern Lebanon as the Lebanese Army's reinforced Nabatieh deployment and Arab/international mediation efforts held.
