Hezbollah Claims Multiple Attacks on Israeli Forces in South Lebanon

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for multiple attacks against Israeli military forces operating in south Lebanon, sustaining active hostilities on the northern front even as US-brokered Lebanon–Israel peace negotiations were scheduled for May 14–15 in Washington. The attacks targeted Israeli military positions south of the Litani River, where Israeli forces have maintained a presence in violation of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement. The continued fighting underscored the fragility of diplomatic efforts, with Hezbollah rejecting ceasefire terms that would require its disarmament and withdrawal from the border area as a precondition for Israeli troop withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory.
