Palestinian FM: Iran War 'Distracting World from Dire Conditions in Gaza'

Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian, speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, warned that the US-Israel war on Iran has diverted global attention from the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. She described conditions: 'People in Gaza are living not only on rubble, but on tons of trash, and the rats are eating the fingers, the ears of children, men and women, and the world is watching.' She said the shift to the Iran war had produced 'more suffering' and 'more delays' in getting humanitarian aid to Gazans. Her statement came as UN OHCHR confirmed at least 32 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli forces since early April 2026 alone.
