Gaza Strikes Continue; Al-Aqsa Mosque Closed for Second Consecutive Friday
Multiple Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and gunfire continued across Gaza, particularly in eastern North Gaza, Gaza City, Bureij, and Khan Younis per UNRWA Situation Report #214. Israeli authorities continued the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and cancellation of Friday prayers for the second consecutive week, with the Israeli Civil Administration confirming the decision was tied to the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran. Gaza health system remained critically strained: 46% of essential medicines out of stock, 66% of medical consumables unavailable (WHO/Gaza MoH); 18,500+ patients requiring urgent medical evacuation for conditions untreatable in Gaza; only 42% of 677 health facilities operational (20 fully, 264 partially). Thirty-nine percent of school-age children were enrolled in any form of education.
