13 European Nations and Canada Condemn Surge in West Bank Settler Attacks

Diplomats from 13 European countries and Canada issued a joint statement condemning the surge in Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The statement came amid escalating settler violence coinciding with the US-Israel war on Iran. Israeli forces also conducted a deadly raid in Jericho on March 21, killing a young Palestinian man. B'Tselem documented that since the Iran war began on February 28, at least 14 Palestinians had been killed in the West Bank — eight by the military and six by armed settlers — including two minors. Israeli settlers blocked entrance gates to many Palestinian communities and burned homes, olive groves, and farmland. The IDF said troops were dispatched to villages reporting settler violence but reported no arrests.
