Nurses Stage Nationwide Protests Over Unpaid Wages, Forced Overtime

Nurses organized demonstrations in Yazd, Tabriz, Neyshabur and Kermanshah protesting sub-poverty wages, months of delayed payments and forced overtime, describing a 'severe structural crisis' in the healthcare system marked by precarious contracts and rising emigration of medical staff. The protests came as separate Statistical Centre of Iran data showed 23 loss-making state-owned companies had accumulated losses of 52.6 quadrillion rials (roughly $22.4 billion).
