Iran Submits 14-Point Peace Proposal to US via Pakistan
Iran formally submitted a 14-point peace proposal to the United States through Pakistani mediators, demanding resolution of all issues within 30 days. Key Iranian demands included: guarantees against future attacks from the US and Israel; withdrawal of US military forces from around Iran; release of frozen Iranian assets worth billions; lifting of decades-long sanctions; war reparations for damages inflicted during the conflict; ending all hostilities including in Lebanon; and establishing a new international mechanism governing the Strait of Hormuz. Iran asserted it would focus on ending the conflict first and would defer nuclear negotiations to a later stage, though it maintained its right to uranium enrichment under the NPT. Iran also signaled it would not accept a 'zero enrichment' demand as a precondition. Washington was reported to be reviewing the proposal.
