IDF Soldier Killed by Lebanese Rocket Fire

One IDF soldier was killed and several others wounded by rockets fired by Iranian-backed fighters in Lebanon. The rocket fire targeted Israeli positions in northern Israel and along the southern Lebanese frontier. The death brings Israel's confirmed military fatality count from the conflict to 19+. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir separately warned government ministers that the IDF is under 'severe strain' with manpower shortages of approximately 15,000 soldiers, while operating simultaneously on active fronts across Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and the West Bank.
