Official Inflation Reaches 52%

Iran's Statistical Center reported annual inflation at 52.3%, with food prices up 72% year-over-year. Meat and dairy had become unaffordable for much of the population. Independent economists estimated real inflation closer to 70%, as the official basket underweighted essential goods.
