Prabowo Holds Fifth Bilateral Summit With Putin as Guest of Honor at Vladivostok's Eastern Economic Forum

President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Vladivostok, Russia on September 2, 2026 as the specially invited main guest of honor at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (September 1–4), and held a bilateral summit with President Vladimir Putin on September 3 — their fifth meeting in two years. Putin and Prabowo appeared together at the forum's plenary session alongside the leaders of Mongolia, Myanmar and China's Vice Premier. Indonesian officials said the visit focused on deepening trade, investment and economic cooperation, including efforts to double Indonesia-Russia trade via a prospective Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union free trade agreement and new direct shipping links. Prabowo's delegation included senior economic and foreign affairs ministers.
