CM Choudhary Concedes: TRE-4 to Be Held in a Single Phase

Two days after the Patna clashes, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary meets a student delegation and announces the fourth Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) will be conducted in a single stage rather than the planned two-phase preliminary-and-mains format. The government unveils nine other measures, including a Patna High Court judge-led Expert Committee on Examination Reforms to review the 70th BPSC exam and hear grievances, a promised Bihar Staff Selection Commission examination calendar, and an inquiry into the 1,799-post sub-inspector recruitment exam. Two students who had been on hunger strike at Gardanibagh since Aug 18 end their fast by taking juice, though the core demand to cancel the 70th BPSC exam remains unmet.
