India's MEA Calls Delhi Barricade Removal 'Proportionate Action', Dismisses Pakistan's Protest Over US Envoy's Kashmir Remarks

| India-Pakistan

Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on August 21, 2026 that the removal of unauthorised structures outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on August 20 was a 'proportionate action' taken after Pakistani authorities removed similar structures outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad despite India's request not to. Asked about Pakistan's protest and summoning of the US Chargé d'Affaires over Ambassador Sergio Gor's August 19 remark that Kashmir is 'an important part of India,' Jaiswal reaffirmed: 'Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are integral and indivisible parts of India. They were, they are, and they will remain so,' adding, 'I see no reason to comment on Pakistan's frustration.'
