India MEA Issues Sharp Rebuke to China Over Operation Sindoor Technical Support to Pakistan
India's Ministry of External Affairs issued a sharp statement on May 12, 2026 warning that countries which 'consider themselves responsible must reflect on the consequences of supporting actions linked to terrorist infrastructure' — a direct message aimed at China for providing technical assistance to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor in May 2025. The rebuke came after Indian forces recovered an intact Chinese-origin PL-15 BVR (Beyond Visual Range) air-to-air missile during the conflict, which Indian officials cited as evidence of advanced Chinese weapons being used by Pakistan's air force against India. The MEA statement signalled that India views China's arms and technical support to Pakistan as enabling Pakistani military aggression, and framed this as relevant to China's global standing as a 'responsible' power. India has consistently objected to Chinese military technology transfers to Pakistan, including advanced fighter jets, missiles, and electronic warfare systems, throughout the post-Sindoor period.
