'No Kings' Rally in Minnesota Spotlights Ongoing ICE Enforcement
Organizers expected over 100,000 demonstrators at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul on March 28 as part of the national 'No Kings' movement. Ahead of the rally, MPR News reported on March 27 that advocates were concerned public attention to ICE enforcement was waning despite nearly 500 ICE agents still remaining in Minnesota — a significant drawdown from the approximately 4,000 deployed during Operation Metro Surge (December 2025–mid-February 2026). A Bloomberg article published March 27 revealed new details about the Minneapolis ICE surge through police department emails, showing that ICE agents had been logged patrolling near schools, an ICE agent was 'trapped in his car' and pelted with snowballs, and numerous calls documented agents allegedly 'harassing children.'
